Student-Athlete Services (SAS) Office serves all student-athletes by supporting their personal, educational and athletic goals through advising, mentoring, relevant programming and activities. SAS encourages the development of individual character, leadership qualities and personal integrity. SAS enhances the student-athlete's understanding, appreciation and participation in a well-rounded educational experience through service initiatives and by building unity within the student-athlete body, Athletic Department and BW community.

SAS at Baldwin Wallace University is a nationally-respected NCAA Division III program for the depth and breadth of programming and support offered. SAS is an incredible asset to our student-athletes, exemplifying BW's drive toward providing student-athletes with the most well-rounded college experience possible. SAS enables student-athletes to enhance their personal development, academic and career success and community service endeavors while at BW and beyond graduation.

Student-Athlete Services includes the following programs and leadership opportunities:

NCAA Student-Athlete Affairs Program
The program provides life skills support in the areas of academics, athletics, personal development, career development and service through the distribution of accessible resources, strategic partnerships and customized programming. Student-Athlete Affairs programs, resources and events are designed to promote the well-being and development of student-athletes.

Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC)
SAAC is composed of student-athletes representing all campus sports assembled to provide insight on the student-athlete experience. SAAC also offers input on the rules, regulations and policies that affect student-athletes' lives on NCAA member institution campuses. SAAC meetings involve committees and speakers who concentrate developing a well-rounded student-athlete. All student-athletes are welcomed and encouraged to attend SAAC meetings.

Student-Athlete Services Undergraduate Intern
The intern program provides the opportunity for one BW student each year to gain experience in college sport marketing and promotion, event planning, and programming while working with our staff.

All Student-Athlete Programs
The programs are an opportunity for all Baldwin Wallace University student-athletes, coaches and Athletic administration to come together and learn information valuable to their success in collegiate athletics.

Student-Athlete Development Workshops
The workshops are held once per month on a designated Tuesday or Thursday during Community Hour (Noon-1pm). Each workshop focuses on a different topic that is relevant to student-athletes.

BW Student-Athlete Handbook
The Athletic Department's Handbook for Student-Athletes and Coaches includes a variety of useful information including: sportsmanship; class attendance and academic eligibility requirements; travel; van usage; drug, alcohol and tobacco regulations; drug testing policy; hazing; grievances; sexual harassment and assault; gambling; sports medicine issues; equipment; media relations; college policies; recruit hosting; awards; and relevant campus resources.

Student-Athlete Mentor (SAM) Program
The Student-Athlete Mentor (SAM) meets with student-athletes who wish to improve their academic standing, study skills or have any school, sport or personal issues that they would like to discuss. SAM works closely with other offices on campus - Health Services, Counseling Services, Learning Center, Career Center, Writing Center and many more - to provide support for student-athletes. The program is part of the Athletic Department and acts as a liaison with Student Affairs. SAM works directly with the Athletic Director and coaches. SAM encourages social and developmental programming for student-athletes to meet individual needs. SAM also informs student-athletes of events and activities occurring on campus.
