BW Residence Life and Housing supports students who are living on campus, commuting to campus or living off campus.
Overview
With nearly 2,000 students who walk, bike, drive or take a bus to campus, commuter students are an important part of the Baldwin Wallace community. All students who do not live on campus are considered commuters, even if they reside in Berea.
BW Commuter Services is committed to serving as a resource and source of connection for commuter students through programs and leadership opportunities that enrich their experience. Commuter students are encouraged to get involved on campus (including the Commuter Activity Board), attend events and visit our JacketConnect page for ongoing information.
Parking
Parking for students is available throughout campus. You must have a valid BW parking pass to park in any campus parking lot. For information on parking rates, regulations and how to obtain a parking pass, visit Parking Services in Jacket Connect. Free street parking is also available, though spaces are limited.
Public Transportation
The BW campus is accessible via Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA) routes 86 and 68. The 86 route also connects to the Red Line at the Brookpark Rapid Station. Find your RTA route to BW.
Commuter Activity Board
The Commuter Activity Board (CAB) is a student programming organization for commuters. CAB provides commuter students with a voice in the Student Senate and sponsors various social activities for commuter students, such as bowling, cookouts, CABapalooza, and much more! See below for a list of events. The CAB office is located on the first floor of Heritage Hall.
Interested in joining? Please visit CAB's Jacket Connect page.
Commuter Lounge
You don't have to go home to study when you are a commuter. Newly renovated for fall 2023, the commuter lounge is a great place to study as well as socialize. Located on the first floor of Heritage Hall (114 Tressel Street), the lounge can be accessed with a valid ID card. The Commuter Lounge is available only to commuter students who may bring one guest.
The commuter lounge includes the following:
- Couches & chairs
- Lockers for storage while you are on campus - bring your own lock
- Refrigerator
- Microwave
- Sink and counter space
- Bulletin boards with CAB events, CSA information and campus events
- Cornhole (Rules for use and playing)
- Computers with email and printer access
Above all, the commuter lounge is a great place to meet other commuters!
Events
We know it takes a lot to be a commuter and you travel from all over the Greater Cleveland Area, so we offer many events for you as a commuter to enjoy while you are on campus! Visit Commuter Services in Jacket Connect for a list of upcoming events.
